Walking Your White German Shepherd Puppy
White German shepherds are working dogs and taking your dog on long walks is important to filling this need to work. This will also strengthen the bond between you and your dog. Many people claim they feel the closest connection to their dog when on a walk. Try to take your dog on two one-half hour walks every day. This is the single most important thing you can do for your white German shepherd puppy. The more you walk your dog with the leash the tamer they will get.
White German shepherds are herding dogs and you will see the herding instinct instilled in them the first time you take your puppy on a walk. They will walk circles around you nonstop, the whole time. We let our puppies do this for awhile, then in time they need to walk by your side. Be extra careful around cars because they'll want to herd them too.
When your puppy has grown, try getting a dog back pack for them to wear on your walks. Put your cell phone, a couple of bottles of water (one for you and one for your dog) and anything else you want to take with you in the dog's back pack. They will think it's their job to carry these things for you.
Walking your puppy every day will help fulfill their need to work. It's good excercise for you too! Plus you and your dog will get to hear "That is a beautiful dog!"
